0ver View : The Sub-Divisional Statistical Office is one of the most important departments under the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Assam which is the principal statistical organization and the nodal agency for all statistical activities in the state.

a) Vision and Mission :  To build an authentic and effective data base system.

b) Objectives : The main objective of this establishment is to provide statistical data collected from the primary and secondary sources to the planners and administrators in the form of reports, to cater the needs of effective socio-economic planning process and administration of the state.

c) Roles and responsibilities : The roles and responsibilities of this establishment are concerned with collection, tabulation, compilation, analysis, processing and interpretation of statistical information pertaining to various sectors of the economy and disseminating of the same to the. user agencies.

Public  Service  Delivered  by  the  department  and  process : This department  is not directly  public related like other departments .It delivers  public service  by providing required statistical  data ;to various agencies for implementation of various flagship programs, construction of rods,  financial institutions and so on.
