District Disaster Management Authority

The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Dhemaji was notified as per the provision of section 20(1) of the National Disaster Management Act-2005 by the Governor of Assam on 24^th July, 2008 as follows:

1. The Deputy Commissioner- Chairperson
2. Chairperson, Zilla Parishad- Co-Chairperson
3. Chief Executive Officer of the District Authority-Member Secretary
4. (to be nominated by the Deputy Commissioner)
5.  Superintendent of Police-Member
6. Chief Medical Officer-Member
7. Executive Engineer, PWD-Member
8. Executive Engineer, Water Resources- Member
9.  

Besides the above, the Heads of all departments concerned with the management of disasters in the district such as Civil Defence, Food & Civil Supplies, Agriculture, Panchayat & Rural Development, Power, Irrigation, and Sports & Youth Welfare will be special invitees to all meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority. The Committee shall discharge all functions as laid down in the National Disaster Management Act, 2005.
